Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria Lays Foundation Stone for Research Centre

 The Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP) has laid the foundation stone for its Research Centre in Anambra State. The centre will house an Analytical lab, Cold Chain Storage facility, Data hub, Warehouse, and conference facilities.


The NAIP National Chairman, Pharm. Bankole Ezebuilo, stated that the Research Centre aims to regulate drug adulteration and ensure that authentic products reach the final consumer. He noted that the Coordinated Wholesale Centres would be responsible for 70 to 80 percent of drugs that move around the country.

The Research Centre will feature various facilities, including:

- Analytical lab for product analysis

- Cold Chain Storage facility for proper storage of drugs

- Data hub for market research and viability studies

- Warehouse for product storage and distribution

- Conference centre for training and workshops

The NAIP Chairman expressed gratitude to the Anambra State Government for providing the project site free of charge. He assured that the Association would work to ensure that consumers receive unadulterated products.

Past PSN Presidents, including Pharm. UNO Uwaga, Pharm. Anthony Akhimme, Pharm. Azubuike Okwor, and Pharmaceutics, provided goodwill remarks and prayed for the success of the project.

The Special Adviser to the Anambra Governor on Medical and Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Godwin Nnadozie, represented by Pharm. Harrison Abone, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the progress made at the Coordinated Wholesale Centre and noted that the NAIP Research Centre would enhance control over substandard products.

The event was attended by various stakeholders, including past PSN Presidents, NAIP officials, and pharmacists from across the country.
