Bayelsa State Government Partners with Search for Common Ground Foundation to Combat Violence and Crime

 The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, has met with members of the Bayelsa State Peace Architecture and the Search for Common Ground Foundation to discuss a project aimed at transforming criminality and violence in the Niger Delta. The project, titled "Community-Centered Approach to Transforming Criminality and Violence in the Niger Delta," is funded by the European Union with 6.5 million euros and will be implemented in 66 communities across Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers states.


The initiative seeks to address issues of environmental degradation, criminality, and violence, including drug abuse, through multi-stakeholder dialogue. Professor Brisibe emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Ministry, Bayelsa State's Peace Architecture, and the Search for Common Ground Foundation in combating societal menaces. The Bayelsa State Government has expressed commitment to solving human problems, particularly in preventing and mitigating drug abuse.
