Enugu Police Crack Down on Illegal Firearms Workshop, Recover Arms and Ammunition
The Enugu State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in its efforts to combat crimes and criminality, particularly the area of illegal firearms. The police command raided and dismantled a local firearms fabrication workshop in Udi Local Government Area, recovering assorted firearms, cartridges, and other exhibits.
Operatives of the Command's Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, acting on credible intelligence, raided the workshop on June 30, 2025, and recovered locally made cut-to-size guns, English-made double-barrel guns, live and expended cartridges, generator sets, firearms repair tools, and other exhibits. The operation followed the arrest and confession of a suspect, Ekene Okafor, who led operatives to the workshop.

- Locally made cut-to-size single-barrel gun
- English-made double-barrel guns
- Eight single-barrel guns
- Live and expended cartridges
- Generator sets
- Firearms repair tools
