Enugu State, ICPC Partner to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Systems

 The Governor of Enugu State has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to transparency, accountability, and traceability in governance. During a recent visit from the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Adamu Aliyu, SAN, the Governor highlighted the state's zero-tolerance policy for corruption.



The Governor emphasized that the state has implemented a digital e-payment platform for all government revenue collections, eliminating cash transactions. This move is part of the state's efforts to promote transparency and accountability in governance.

The Governor also highlighted the state's Citizens' Charter, which obliges him to render regular accounts to the citizens of Enugu. This commitment to transparency and accountability is a cornerstone of the state's governance philosophy.

The Governor welcomed the ICPC's readiness to collaborate with the state in strengthening anti-corruption systems and promoting good governance. This partnership is expected to further enhance the state's efforts to build a culture of openness, participation, and trust.

The Governor's commitment to transparency and accountability is also driven by the need to attract private investment and grow the state's economy. With a mission to grow the Enugu economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion in eight years, the Governor recognizes the importance of creating a business-friendly environment that promotes the rule of law, transparency, and ease of doing business.

Through regular consultative town hall meetings with citizens and stakeholder groups, the Governor's administration is building a culture of trust and openness. By presenting scorecards and receiving feedback, the administration is demonstrating its commitment to accountability and transparency.
