FRSC Recovers 35 Stolen Vehicles in Six Months Through Innovative Tech Platform

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered 35 stolen vehicles across the country in the first half of 2025. The recovery was made possible through the intelligence-driven operations facilitated by the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) portal, a data-driven platform that plays a crucial role in combating vehicle-related crimes.

The stolen vehicles recovered include 24 Toyota vehicles, 5 Lexus, 2 Mercedes, 1 Ford Focus, 1 Daihatsu, 1 Pontiac Vibe, and 1 Toyota Sienna. These vehicles were stolen through armed robbery, abduction, and fraudulent activities.

The FRSC collaborated with sister security agencies and state governments to trace and retrieve the vehicles from different parts of the country. The Corps Marshal commended the personnel involved in the tracking and recovery of the vehicles, noting that the recoveries demonstrate the effectiveness of inter-agency synergy and technological integration in modern law enforcement.

The FRSC emphasized its commitment to supporting national security through vehicle verification and traceability. The Corps Marshal described the recoveries as a positive reflection of FRSC's efforts against criminal elements who use stolen vehicles to undermine public safety.

The FRSC urges the public to continue partnering with the Corps by using the NVIS portal to verify vehicle details before purchase and report suspicious vehicle registrations. Public trust and collaboration are vital to the success of the Corps' mandate.
