KSCHMA Hosts Private Health Facilities for Q2 2025 Stakeholders Engagement

 The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has convened a stakeholders' engagement meeting with private health facilities under the State Contributory Healthcare Scheme. The meeting, held on July 16, 2025, at e-Health Africa in Kano, aimed to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery.



The Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, reaffirmed the agency's commitment to delivering accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all enrollees across Kano State. She emphasized the critical role private health facilities play in the success of the contributory scheme and the need for meaningful partnerships.

The meeting featured technical presentations from various departments, including Claims Management, Programmes, Legal Services, SQA, and M&E. The agency introduced stakeholders to its newly developed Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) data tools and the Facility Claims Journal, aimed at improving data accuracy, tracking performance, and streamlining financial accountability.

Participants engaged in robust discussions and Q&A sessions, highlighting common issues such as claim delays, referral bottlenecks, and the need for continuous training. The agency committed to addressing these concerns and improving support systems for private partners.

The meeting covered key sessions, including:

- Updated referral and authorization code processes

- Service level agreement clarifications

- Outcomes of special inspection visits conducted across participating facilities

These sessions provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share experiences, raise operational concerns, and offer recommendations for improved coordination.

The agency committed to improving support systems for private partners and addressing concerns raised during the meeting. Dr. Rahila concluded that the agency's mission can only be achieved through meaningful partnerships like this, building a health system rooted in trust, performance, and accountability.

The event ended with renewed commitments from all parties to work collaboratively toward a more responsive and effective healthcare system for the people of Kano State. The stakeholders expressed their determination to improve healthcare delivery and ensure that the contributory scheme achieves its objectives.
