NSCDC Commandant General Arrives Abia State on Operational Tour, Reaffirms Commitment to National Security

 The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has visited Abia State as part of his strategic operational tour of the South East. During the visit, he met with the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, at the Government House, Umuahia.


The Commandant General expressed appreciation for the state government's support and appealed for sustained collaboration in tackling security challenges. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure and maintaining internal security. This appeal highlights the need for a multi-agency approach in addressing security issues in the state.

The Governor commended the NSCDC for its professionalism and proactive interventions in maintaining internal security. He pledged the full support of his administration to the Corps and other security agencies operating in the state. This gesture demonstrates the state government's commitment to enhancing security in Abia State.

The Commandant General also addressed officers and men of the NSCDC Abia State Command, charging them to remain committed, vigilant, and patriotic in the discharge of their duties. He raised concerns over the growing threats posed by asymmetric warfare, oil theft, and vandalism of critical infrastructure.
