Senate Pays Condolence Visit to Governor Radda Over Death of Former President Buhari
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the Senate, under the leadership of Senate Chairman Godswil Akpabio, paid a condolence visit to Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD, CON, and the people of Katsina State following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate team, comprising several notable senators, visited the family of the late former president in Daura before proceeding to meet with Governor Radda. The visit was aimed at expressing the Senate's condolences and solidarity with the people of Katsina State during this difficult time.
During the visit, Senate Chairman Akpabio described the former president as a good man who worked tirelessly to build Nigeria during his tenure, both in military rule and democracy. He expressed regret that the Senate team was unable to attend the funeral the previous day due to the chaos at the airport.
