KANO POLICE ARREST 3 NOTORIOUS TRANS-BORDER CRIMINALS, RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE
The Kano State Police Command has apprehended three notorious suspects involved in a car snatching incident. On July 7, 2025, a report was received about a thief, Shamsu Yusuf, who disguised himself as a car buyer and snatched a gold-colored Toyota Corolla 2013 model from a car dealer in Kano.
Following a coordinated operation, police operatives arrested the principal suspect and his two accomplices on July 17, 2025. The stolen vehicle, which had been sold in the Niger Republic, was recovered. The accomplices, Bashir Ladan and Suleiman Muntari, were arrested in Katsina State.
The principal suspect confessed to a series of car thefts, including the theft of a GLK Mercedes car. Investigations are ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication to duty. He urged car dealers to be wary of such criminal activities and assured the public of the Command's commitment to protecting lives and property.
