Kano State Police Command Strengthens Ties with Local University

 The Kano State Police Command has received a courtesy visit from the Vice Chancellor of Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano, Dr. Sadi Muhammad Surajo. The visit, which took place on July 24, 2025, demonstrates the Command's commitment to fostering collaborative relationships with educational institutions towards ensuring public safety and security in Kano State schools.


The Vice Chancellor, accompanied by members of his senior management team, commended the police for their efforts in providing a secure environment for education and businesses to thrive. He expressed appreciation for the Command's support to the university community and welcomed the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD.


In response, CP Bakori assured the Vice Chancellor of the Command's continued support to the university. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the police and the academic community in addressing security challenges and promoting a safe environment conducive to learning and growth.


The Commissioner of Police highlighted the community-oriented policing approach directed by the Inspector-General of Police, emphasizing the need for joint efforts to prevent and combat crime.  Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has indeed warned Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, against visiting the state without obtaining necessary security clearance. This warning comes after Obi's recent visit to Benin City on July 7, where he donated ₦15 million to St. Philomena Hospital School of Nursing Sciences.
